Decisions Decisions: Which DSLR?

I see you took my advice - pity the thread turned into a childish squabble.

I've never subscribed to the 'too much camera' argument.  Get the best you can afford.  But do remember my point about making sure you have enough for lenses.  Having said that, as with most things in life, it comes down to how critical you are.  I'm sure something like the 18-105mm will produce good images, as will the 50mm D.  I'd forgotten about the new 1.8 - also worth a look, as is the 35mm 1.8 already mentioned before.  And don't forget the great MF lenses!
