What are my options? I want to shoot wildlife, but the longest lens I have is a 70-200 VRII. I have a D300. I have been looking at the used 80-400, but thought I'd come here for opinions.
I need to stay under $1000, so what other options do I have?
Thanks,
Mark
For $530 the 70-300 VR comes into play. Depends if it is sharp enough for you in the 200-300 range. May be fine for caged animals on sunny days.
The 80-400 may be sharper to 300 but may be slower to focus. Not an AF-S lens so not for my D5100. Time for Nikon to upgrade this lens?
