Infrared with the X100 (R72 Filter)

I have been playing round with Infrared (49mm - Hoya R72) on the X100 and have found it an interesting process.
~ I shoot in A or fully Manual modes.
~ I shoot with ISO 200-400 depending on the brightness of the day.
~ I under expose 1-2 stops depending on the light. The light meter does reasonably well through the filter.
~ The X100 will focus through the R72 filter so I do use it some times over manual focus.
~ For ISO below 6400 a tripod is required as exposures are from 2-30 seconds. You also need to be very aware of any movement during the exposure.
~ You can shoot hand held at ISO 6400 but the results can be very varied.
~ I shoot JPG and RAF. Sometime the JPGs are fine and other times the RAF files are better to work with.
~ The RAF files are "RED" so I use the Capture One Pro V6.4.3 (About to upgrade to V7) B&W conversion work workspace to convert them to B&W and then tweak the Red and Yellow channels along with bit of Contrast, Exposure and Brightness.
~ I have in camera "Long Exposure Noise Reduction" set on for the JPGs.
~ For shooting JPGs I set the Film Simulation to "Monochrome Yellow".
It is really a hit and miss process but I love it and have got a couple of great pics (in my personal opinion only of course).
If your looking for something different give it a try.
