Congrats on your new camera. As to your question, I'd say it depends. On the E-M5 there is some kind of "paint" (possibly some form of anodization) on top on the silver as well as the black version. This layer may well wear to roughly the same extent but the wear is likely to be more visible on the black than on the silver version because of different level of contrast compared to the metal layer underneath.

What can you tell us about corresponding things on the E-PL5? I haven't followed this new body with enough attention to know much about things like these.
