The Voting Confusion

According to what I have read in this forum, there are way too many examples of a lack of "People's Choice", and charges of manipulation of votes, etc.  Putting the responsibility of choice on the Host would eliminate a lot of that.  I guess it is just me, but I enjoy seeing all the entries and how mine compares and how the rules were interpreted by the entrants.  Whether I come in first or last is not that important.  I usually end up somewhere in the middle, but I am not a professional photographer and do not have any purpose or use for extolling my picture placement, good or bad.
