Guys, please help me out here ... I want to get a photobook with some of my nicer shots. I just made one with blurb and the print quality was a bit underwhelming ... It looks like somehting my color laser could have done
Hi Matt. Blurb books can be excellent - I and a number of colleagues have been using them for top quality photo books for a number of years.
If yours is not very good ..... you need to ask yourself whether you actually read their instructions about preparation of images. It is in that area that will determine what quality you obtain - it is definitley NOT Blurb that is at fault. Sorry to be so blunt but their printing can only reflect the quality of images submitted - as will any other similar offerings.
I couldn't find instructions other than required DPI and color space. The images are all over 300 DPI and have the right color space. Color accuracy didnt even matter and turned out acceptable. The images just have a very cheap laser printer look to them.
I did use only the premium paper, I think there is another better paper option.
The pictures printed at a photo lab look just fine. I know a photobook wont have the same quality but the blurb book was way behind
