NEX 5N Photo processing

Hi, I had a quick "man" look for any related posts but gave up after a few seconds, but could someone please answer any of the (very probably noob) below questions about NEX processing:

1, is there a way to set the camera up so it carries out photo processing at a later point when instructed or even better once you have switched the camera off??

2, If I take a long exposure picture do I have to wait for processing to complete before I can take another shot? This can obviosuly be some time!

3,  What happens if I turn the camera off or the battery runs out mid way through processing? Do you lose the photo or does it resume processing once the camera is switched back on?

4, Is this why all you pro's shoot in RAW mode to avoid this sometimes lengthy process?

Thanks for any replies.
