m43 is good enough for me

Aspect ratio perhaps? A3 seems a little small to want full frame for. I printed A3 sized samples from the D800 and OMD in order to see if it really made a difference (adjusted for aspect ratio) before I bought one or the other. I decided it was not significant enough at A3 to justify the extra cost and weight, unless I went to very high ISO which normally I never do. I printed samples scaled for A2 sized printing as well, it was there I thought full frame had merit enough to warrant consideration.... but at A3 size no.

My FF experience comes from the film era, when I also dabbled in medium format photography. Back then I was shooting 35mm slides (mostly Kodachrome) for projection and 35mm colour negative and monochrome film for making prints. I soon realised that I had no inclination to make prints larger than 8 x 10" or A4, so medium format was a waste of time for me.

Fast forward to the digital era where I now shoot with a GH2 and assorted m43 lenses for both stills and video. My output is now limited to TV and monitor display, internet postings, newspaper commissions, and prints up to and including A3.

Like you I appreciate the smaller size and lower weight of m43 equipment and am prepared to make the necessary compromise rather than spending a small fortune on FF gear in search of that last ounce of resolution.

Being one of nature's larger people, I find that the GH2 fits my hand almost perfectly, while its light weight remains wonderful.

Just as medium format was a step too far in my youth, so FF is a step too far in my antiquity.
