Do you do a lot of post production work by exporting to an external editor such as Photoshop. If so, I believe Aperture makes a duplicate of the edited file and stores it in the Aperture Library. You can search for edited files using the Aperture search engine. Select all Photos at the top of the Library tab and then using the search dialogue search for File Type - Externally Edited. This will show all files that you have sent to an external editor that have reimported to the Aperture Library. This can add upto some serious hardrive space, especially if you are using 16 Bit Tiffs
