I only know of one independent test of a third-party ink which claims to be "equivalent" to Claria and that was done by Aardenburg Imaging. I think it is the worst ink they ever tested. Of course it doesn't mean that all third-party Claria equivalents are this bad, but it is certainly food for thought.
To put the result in context however, if we only consider light fading, most people would still be happy with the Claria prints after 50 years on the wall in a brightly lit home - if they lived that long! For the third-party ink tested they might be unhappy after 2 or 3 years.
Remember, the Aardenburg tests only consider light fading, and other factors such as ozone and humidity may be more significant in real environments.
