Could always use higher ISO!

It has been just over a month since I purchased the D600, and with 1500 keepers and counting I decided to see if that purported ISO benefit is of any use. I came from a D300 that left me afraid to use ISO 1600, so this should be a good upgrade. Also keep in mind I shot a wedding in this time, numerous nightlife events, and a variety of photojournalism/multimedia projects. If you're a landscape shooter your mileage will vary.
So how do the numbers pan out?
60 images @ ISO 200
100 @ 400
10 @ 800
100 @ 1600
200 @ 2000
565 @ 3200!
90 @ 6400
I have a handful shot at 8000, but things are looking pretty shaky at that point. For these types of shooting I could always use better high ISO performance, and it looks like I've really been stretching the camera to its noise limits to get the shot. I've been very happy with its performance, although the grip is nowhere near as comfortable as the D300/D800.
