i think that what is being missed in alot of reviews here is that no matter what camera is reviewed the images have a somewhat sterile digital look.

kind of like viewing a video tape vs watching a technicolor movie

here is an example of a photo I took. not really that special but on the other hand it kind of has life and charm because it was formed with silver halide and not pure digital.

not trying to start a debate of fiilm vs digital but whats really is important in a photo ?

so if the "charm " part is important how would the makers of digital cameras address THAT issue ?

how would a reviewer even deal with this quality ?

what if one camera did not test out better in a lab and yet the appeal factor was there ?

what if a camera tests great but somehow is too sterile and lifeless ?
