I think you need to use the EOS Utility to change the information that the camera puts into the EXIF.

Just another thought... have you guys checked out using cloud sharing, like DropBox, Google Drive, etc. rather than exchanging CDs?

Yes, I actually thought about it, but one of my friends is not very computer/gadet savvy and attempting to get him to use dropbox or something similar might be a bit difficult.  Besides, my photos after a week totaled over 2GB, so transferring that many images to dropbox, etc. would be quite time-consuming. Burning a DVD takes much less time.
