Hi NewsyL,
Asus PA248Q is 100% sRGB monitor. It is not wide gamut. The previous model PA246Q was wide gamut. From all the three models listed which would you go for for photo editing?
Do you know if any these monitors are considered to be "bright"? I was reading some where that some monitors have their brightness set at 120 cd/m2 and cannot be lowered. Such monitors require more ambient light to work comfortably. My ambient lighting is low and hence requires one whose brightness level can be lowered.
Yes, I get those two confused all the time and knew I had the wrong one when I checked pricing of the PA248Q and it was $200 too low.
I know the PA246Q has issues with not having a bottom end brightness below 100 cd/m2. It's minimum is about 125 cd/m2 but it is built much different from the PA248Q as it uses a W-CCFL (W = Wide Gamut) backllight.
I'm not sure about the PA248Q but I suspect ASUS OEM's this monitor to Dell as the U2412M and as such, the Dell being able to go down below 50 cd/m2 at zero Brightness, I think the PA248Q will also do so. It also uses a W-LED (W = White) backlight like the Dell and HP.
The ZR2440w is also able to go below 50 cd/m2.
