Try taking more similar photographs and work out for yourself what facinates you about the compositions. You might like to look at some of Thomas Struth's museum photographs. For example:

Since 1989, Thomas Struth's museum pictures have depicted architectural monuments and museum interiors – rooms of history -- in relation to their audience, in which the subjects themselves become the portrait. Struth's work is characterized by an oblique vantage point and a clarity and neutrality.
