I like them both in their own way.  The first is more documentary, the second is more artistic.  I might have liked the second more if more of the photo had been frozen or still.  But then, depending on what it was, I might not have.

I have been thinking about my reaction to these two photos, and I'm still not sure what I think about them.  To some degree I wonder what I would have thought if you hadn't provided the back story.  Sometimes a photo needs to tell its story without words.  A recent example would be Roel's shot of the art gallery patrons looking at the floor.  I could understand that one without any accompanying comments.

With that in mind, then, I have to say that I prefer your second shot because it can tell its own story better than the first one.  Just my usual $.02.
