The fact that you can get it for such a low price is what really sold me on this printer. If you compare it to anything else for $130 - $200, this is easily your best printer.

I wish I could get a 9000 Mark II for $130!!! My MP970 just died. It's a multi-function but it's a 7 cartridge printer with 6 of the cartridges in common with the Pro Mark II. It is such a dam pity that the Pro Mark II sells for no less than about $600 in Australia. We completely get ripped off here. I have lots of bulk ink left over that would go on this printer so I'm still considering it. But the Epson 1430 sells for $400 here and it's also a contender though you have to fool the printer driver to get a proper b&w print on the Epsons apparently, and I'm also worried about clogging nozzles (which I know are easier to deal with on Canon printers)

Woooow!! That sucks!! Some fried's of mine from Aurtralia were just here in Los Angeles about three weeks ago. If you have any friends that will come around this part of town let me know, i will help you out in getting you one, i called a couple of people from craigslist and they sell for $120 to 170 dollars. They are sealed in the box, "supodsedly", but after i get out of work i will go buy one from a craigslist seller.

Yeah, I got mine off craigslist. You will be able to tell if it has been opened. When you get it, it should come with a full set of inks too.

You will love this printer. Definitely download and install the ICC profiles for any paper you get. So far the papers that I have used and like for this printer are Ilford Pearl, Moab Lasal Photo Matte, Moab Satine Fiber.
