I'd agree but I would like Nikon to do a couple of things:
- put another 10 pin connector on the outside of these things so you can do, for example, two things at once (the horror).
- beef up the 10 pin base (I'm looking at YOU D800)
- publish an API (application programming interface, set of instructions for programmers to allow other people to take full advantage of the connector) for the 10 pin connector.
But I don't necessarily want either WiFi or GPS bolted on to a device that's supposed to last 5 years or so. Too many things change.
And FWIW, I have a nice little Canon S100 with internal GPS that works - oh, occasionally. When you make your antenna as small as possible to fit in something crammed with miscellaneous electronics you often have to compromise. I much prefer to use a dedicated GPS antenna off the camera. I'd love a Bluetooth 10 pin device, much like the Red Hen system (which doesn't appear to have been updated for newer cameras).
