The book is off the presses and should be available for purchase as soon as retailers list it as 'in stock.'   Amazon, for example, doesn't show a book as being available until they have copies in all of their many warehouses.  That's because of their various shipping-time guarantees.  Meanwhile, they ship pre-orders to those near the warehouses that do have copies.  It can take as long as a month for a book to be available for standard overnight, two-day, etc. shipping.

A lot of people don't need a third-party book, although it may confound them that other people do.  These books are typically written for those who can benefit from some extra guidance and may sell to no more than 10 percent of the installed base.  For some camera models, that can be 30,000 copies or more, which makes it worth the publisher's while to offer such a book.  When fewer people need books, the supply dries up, hence the dearth of books for the PEN EP-series.
