Waiting to vote. Broome Street.
I remember in 1952 NYC had these state of the art voting machines that just required flipping a series of levers and were very efficient. Elderly immigrants would go into the booth and machine gun a straight Democratic ticket in about 3 seconds and be out of there. This year there is a new system that provides a paper trail. It caused incredible delays. Voting machine hysteria is like vaccine hysteria and terrorism hysteria in boarding planes. Everyone's life is made a little more miserable because the irresponsible and infantile nature of our public media.
When I saw the line, I seriously considered not voting this year.
What else do we expect of mortals, I guess.
All photos shot in downtown Manhattan unless otherwise noted.
