staff understanding of different cameras

Barney made some statements in the announcements of the new Canon lenses on why JBIS couldn't be implemented in Canon and Nikon FF dslr cameras.  Sony makes 3 FF cameras which use IBIS successfully without the problems Barney alluded too.  Could staff please explain why sony can do this engineering feat and the other manufactures of FF dslr s can't.
