I shoot all Eagles,Owls, Hawks, etc. all winter in Michigan, often in those temps. My A77 is on a tripod, out in the middle of an open field for 5-8 hrs. at a time without any issues other than shorter Battery life. Sometimes it has an inch of Snow on it --- and as long as it's cold enough to be a "dry Snow" I don't even worry about that! I just shoot it with a Giottos Rocket blaster, then a soft makeup brush, before i put it back in the truck, and that's mainly because I don't want my 70-400G getting wet from the melting Snow. The A77 is a pretty tough Camera, so I wouldn't even consider "cold" an issue.
