That iMovie is really easy to use, even my wife can use it on her iPad and made killer movies. She (a nurse) hardly can do anything in a window PC.

The only gripe I have about is the file transfer in and out of the device.  It is not easy to upload movies back into the iPad so she can edit. Her iPad only has 16G, so it fills up fast.

I tried to make her use Adobe Premier on a PC.  It is surely more powerful and support multiple formats, but not easy to get started like the iMovie. I have looked for comparable application on PC and Android, so far none.

Since iMovie is an Apple software, the chance you can find a comparable apps (for $5) on other platform is unlikely.

I heard Pinnacle or Magix Video are among the easiest to use outside of iOS. They are not $5 though. They will take a little more time to get used to, but once you get used to it, they are far more powerful than iMovie.

I have Premiere Pro on my PC btw.
