Got my P7700 Nikon lens hood, put my B&W 58 mm UV filter on and took it out for a shoot.
My shots were all out of focus. At first I thought it was Noise Reduction but then realized it was the filter being placed too far in front of the P7700 lens' outer surface (I guess).
I wonder if this occured because of the distance of the filter from the lens and the VR system?
I immediately took off the 58mm UV filter and put my B&W 40.5 UV filter, then the lens hood, and my images were all in proper focus.
Don't have time yet to replicate this but I post this just as an Alert, not to panic everyone.
Anyone else encounter this issue?
I wonder if a step up ring would work. I have one on order to use with my Canon 250d close up lens and I'm sure hoping it will work. Keeping fingers crossed.
