Romney not "Conservative enough"?

Right wing media is reporting that the reason Romney lost is because he wasn't Conservative enough.

I'll do my Conservative friends a favor and tell them the truth. Romney didn't lose because he was not Conservative enough. Romney lost because even though he completely captured the "Angry White Man" vote, there simply aren't enough angry white men in the United States to win an election.

Reagan was successful with the "Welfare queens in Cadillacs" approach. Back then, the "Angry White Man" vote was enough to propel a candidate to the top. Not so much any more.

Romney did very well with the white male vote, but he lost (brutally lost) these parts of the electorate-

• African-Americans
• Latinos
• Jews
• Asians
• Young voters 

Getting the white male vote isn't enough anymore.

Running a more Conservative candidate is not the answer. Running a less Conservative candidate may get you better mileage.

Walsh, Mourdoch, West, Akin. Gone, and good riddance. The American people have spoken. What the country wants is not what Limbaugh wants.

My advice to my Conservative friends, find a candidate like Reagan. I disagreed with much about Reagan, but I wasn't afraid of him. He kept us all safe. He didn't ask to invade a woman's body. He didn't ask that we let a child die because the kid's parents couldn't afford the procedure that would save the child's life, because economic realities were more important than saving the life of a child.

Reagan did not consider 50% of our country "takers", as O'Reilly said the other day. Reagan played on the needy, that's one reason I couldn't support him, but he never suggested that 47% or 50% (depending on who you listened to) were a bunch of freeloaders.

I disagreed with Reagan, but I wasn't terrified of him.

What would become of a Republican like Reagan in today's GOP? Rush, Hannity, BillO and The Five would have no use for a Republican like Reagan. He wouldn't be Conservative enough.
