What is D300s successor and what is not

The D7000 body is currently on December sales at 900 dollars. There is room for a D7200 at 1199 for body and a pro body D400 at 1700/1800 dollars with the new 24MP DX sensor. If Nikon can just make sRaw like Canon for 2 different raw sizes then the frame rate can be high like D300s or else have the processor fast enough to handle high MP. The main thing I do not like with D5200 and D3200 and D7000 is the consumer body features that are not pro quality, despite the newer processors.

Part time professionals and full time, in my opinion would likely embrace a lighter body lens combo if it had the IQ of latest DX sensors at 24MP which are looking good at 3200 iso now for low noise. Full time event professionals all have 2 camera bodies anyway for backup, why not a Pro DX body with newest sensor and great low light IQ and great AF, to use for when lighter than FX solutions are desirable for sports or events. Is Nikon on the fence, to see how many pros or advanced consumers would want a pro body D400 to warrant making one or have they already decided it would not sell enough. If is was available, I think it would attract more buyers for a lighter body/lens combos as alternative to FX but still with pro body.
