Hey Peter,
I am no expert, but it seems to me you are saying (correct me if I am wrong, I have thick skin), "look here is a situation where the noise reduction set to HI, (usually to be avoided) can actually improve the image and project wonderful clarity and detail." If so I would agree. The images are certainly very fine in my estimation and I think would improve my daughter-in-laws Jewlrey photography. I keep thinking of what I ususally see in the comparison tool that has the blue and silver watch face! lol.
Anyway, thanks for the post. I think good photography it really all about knowing what your camera is capable of and knowing in every situation how to bring out the best. Nice job. I would never have thought to choose High NR, and here it seems to be the call.
