I had to trade some highlight clipping to maintain good exposure on the bees. The pure white flowers were half in and half out of the sun, which made it awkward for the camera, especially with that second to last shot as the bee was hovering just in the shadow of the flowers.I noticed it too, but found the contrast unobtrusive. You may try image processing, it goes well with HS30 JPGs. Also, could you post EXIF on one of the images - I am very curious about shutter speed.
Here yah go. This is the original before I cropped and PP'd it.
I did levels & contrast in Photoscape and then used Neat Image ( which I'm trialling ) for a sharpen and Noise reduction. Click on the link for my Flickr account, there are more there as well, some not so good , others okayish.
It shows though how much headroom is available with the Jpegs from the EXR cameras. I think I could probably push this a little further, but for now I'm happy with it. The white clipping is't really annoying and I purposely cropped it to be that way.
