I think your question is a bit vauge in the fact that any camera produced since ?? can work wonderful with flashes if you know how to make it work. As pointed out above in a reply, the X-E1 does have a built in flash that can be used to trigger other flashes. Additionally, remote triggers do work and if you want, you can use a Canon or Nikon sync cord on the X-E1 hotshoe to use off camera flash with Nikon speedlights.
Any true strobist will easily be able to make the X-E1 adapt to work with just about any combination of lighting excessories available on the market today. Maybe the answer to your question is really answered with another question: "How good of a strobist are you?"
