I applaud the ability of modern cameras to bring out more dynamic range in photos. However there are still limits and there will be instances where those limits are exceeded. The function of HDR is to overcome those limits and so it will still be useful.

I was engaging in a bit of hyperbole. If I had a chance to do it over again I would probably change the title to something more restrained like:

"Near HDR result attainable with new generation of cameras and LR4"
