The U2312HM is a decent monitor. It's one notable weak point is that it is not able to be reduced in brightness as much as the U2412M. I f you like to edit images in a really dark room, this monitor may be a bit too bright. However, if you are willing to have a bit of light in the room while editing, then it will be fine.
With the Brightness control set to zero, the U2312HM has a minimum brightness near 115 cd/m2. For editing in a dark room you may want to get it down to 80 cd/m2.
Editing on a monitor that is too bright in balance against the ambient room lighting can result in what is known as "dark prints".
