What you think of this photo

Sorry, I find the background very distracting from the subject nuthatch. While the blurred regions of color are attractive in an abstract way, they are so much larger and brighter than the bird that the nuthatch seems secondary. The reflections off the foreground tree bark also compete for our attention. Furthermore, some elements of the nuthatch (beak in particular) seem to get lost in the background shadows. If the nuthatch is your primary subject, you need to light it and compose it so that the viewers eye is drawn to it and is not distracted by other elements in the frame. Easier said than done.... these little guys are always moving!
