Calibrating U2711 at less than Full Res

I think I already know the answer but thought I would make sure. I am waiting for a response from Dell aslo.

I have an HP laptop with only HDMI amd VGA ports. I use EyeOne match 3 hardware and software to calibrate.

It seems no matter what I do monitor is too warm in color even when I set white Point to 7500. I have tried both VGA and HDMI with same results. Radeon HD 4650 card seems to work fine.

I am concluding that I will not get proper color until I get Full Res. or Native Res. of monitor. Is this correct?
