Decisions....Decisions... the agony!!

+1 I'd say you're likely to need both..........and a couple of lenses

The safari area you might really want the D7000 w/ a lens with a bit more reach (don't know the distances). In other areas you may want the P&S......water, rides, etc.

Me - I'd take the D7000 w/ an 18-250 (or 200, 270,......) and the P&S.
