Thanks everyone for the responses.
I calibrated my monitor and it made a difference, but not much. I also updated the driver to 9.0 and realized I definitely wasn't allowing both PS and the driver to control color, just PS. I chose the right paper in the printer setting and even switched the black ink to matte.
The print did improve - the contrast went up and the brights are now brighter -- BUT the rest of the print is still too dark and the saturation seems to be low.
I tried following along with the three videos but since I am only printing from photoshop a lot of it was unnecessary (for me) though I pretty much got out of it everything you have all said. If anyone can offer any additional solutions that haven't been mentioned, please please please! I'd appreciate it!
