ACDSee has matured a good deal, is simple to use, and has most, if not all of LR4 controls. It also has a rather good "lighting" function in addition to the Edit Brush. Once a full synch is done, it races along, and has perhaps the best implemented DAM. Upgrade to Pro 6 was a very modest 29$, so quite a bargain once already bought in.

RAW conversion seems as good as most, so I'll stick with that now.

ACDSee seems to be a very powerful, well-rounded software. Too bad it's not available on Mac — I wish I could try it. I did heard lots of great feedback about it, though, especially regardind DAM.

Capture One is another, high-performance, demanding software too. With version 7, forget about 32-bit operating systems. My MacBook Pro runs great now, but when version 8 is released, I'll probably have to add some RAM to keep things working smoothly.

If photography can be considered like painting, then I'm still at the preschool "paint with your fingers" level.
