In sum, DPreview said the new forum shouldn't soften the pictures, so I'm wondering how many are zooming in on the forum pages using the browser - I was. This will scale the images from their small forum-sized resolution and make them very soft. If you click on the pictures, the images show in larger size: 940 pixels on the long edge, and the fonts are also larger. So I'll be resizing most of my pics to that size when posting here. Your original images showed just like the ones on pbase.

The detail of tiles of the fountain are excellent on the full-size image, and i'm glad to hear you failed to produce moire!
