recommedations: usb-powered routers, for field-tethering

Hi All,
I want to use an iphone/ipad camera control app in the field. For an app like this to work, a laptop and the iOS device need to be connected to the same wifi network via a router (adhoc mode is too slow).
I'm looking for recommendations for a small, usb-powered wifi router. Can any one help (knowledgeably)?
