It appears that I have developed a classic "dust/dirt" spot on my sensor. Anyone have a suggestion? Definitely not on the lens. I wonder if it would be covered under warranty - I also took out the free accidental damage warranty. Obviously I'm not going to try to disassemble the camera.

What a bummer!!

If true, that is a bummer.

A few questions:

How long have you had the camera, and how many pics have you taken before discovering the classic sensor dust/dirt?

Do you carry or store the camera  in some kind of case or pouch when not using?

Do you shoot in overly dusty environs?

And finally, and most importantly, do you have any pics you can post here that shows the effect of the dirt/dust on sensor issue?

As you say, it should be covered under warranty.

Good luck getting your issued resolved and report back how it went.
