Can you use flash in AF-C mode on X10?

I've just discovered while playing around more with my returned X10 that the flash is no longer working when I pop the flash unit up.  Can someone with an X10 confirm that the flash is still supposed to work when you are in continuous AF mode (which I've also discovered I'm now stuck on since it has been returned)?  Pressing the flash mode button (right side of dial) does nothing in any shooting mode I set.
