Yes faststone is a free image viewer but it does not display thumbnails of files in windows dialogs or windows file explorer. As I wrote above for that you need the install codecs into windows that will generate thumbnails for image files like PSD and RAW files. I can not post a link to a chimerical web site here that not allowed the only package I know FastPictureViewer Codec Pack 3.3 (3.3.0.71)
