Does it make any sense to get the original sony SEL18200 if you are not interested in longer FL?

The original 18-200 was meant for video purposes more than photography ones. It is quite sharp, and has excellent image stabilization. It is also over 600 grams (over 1.3 pounds) when you consider the hood and a filter on it. So it weighs a LOT compared to the camera body. It stands quite long compared to the body as well. So a beast on a NEX body (though not really as big as DSLR zoom lenses of the same magnification).
