Ditto on the DSLR.
I have both and I love the SX for so many situations but the DSLR ALWAYS comes out when action is involved.

I am considering the Cannon SX50 HS. I mostly want to be able to take clear pictures of my children and dog as they play and run around the yard. The pictures I take with my current camera (a sony cybershot)come out blury unless they are standing still. Also the shutter lag is very long so by the time the picture is captured the subjuct has moved.
Is the Cannon SX50 HS a good choice for my needs?
It may be better, but this is the area where a dSLR will just crush any of the compacts.
