A friend shoots with an L22 he needs to upgrade!

I shoot with Nikon DSLRs and he's not ready for that.  In fact, he's not ready for even a P7100 or P510, partly because of the expense and partly he seems a bit technically challenged.  He has a good eye for photography but is just not technically a camera person.  He approached me about this so I'm not forcing advice on him.

And I have no advice to give him.  I'm thinking stay with Nikon because it's familiar to him but what "under $150" Coolpix would be a worthy upgrade?  Under $200?  There must be some sleeper in Nikon's Coolpix lineup that is truly an upgrade.  Heck, maybe I should sell him my Panaasonic ZS1 and get my own self a P7100.  Now that's a thought.
