Looks like a good choice. It will be more than you need, but in the circumstances you don't want to find you've gone lightweight and the price does buy peace of mind.
I'd have no hesitation shooting 250th. You could shoot slower than that and not notice the difference unless the ambient light is very strong and you were using the longest lens. The lights will give a brief duration - maybe not as short as a camera flash unit, but still way shorter than 250th.
