The scene as captured by 5D2.



Sun was bright (typical NZ sun) and the foreground wasn't this dark. So, I tried to get the outline of the sun and make the foreground brighter to approximate what I saw.

5D2 shot was taken with 24-70V1 with UV Haze filter attached (forgot to take it off). It manged to get some outline of the sun, although it did worse in shadow lifting. But no camera won Nobel prize here. These pictures are okay for this small size, but seen larger, shadow lifted areas from all cameras look pretty bad. I will upload RAW images soon in my Skydrive, you can have a look if you are interested.

Next, high ISO noise.
