High-Speed, Auto-fed Scanner

Hi everyone.  I am looking for a high-speed scanner to scan my family's old pictures.  We have a good number of photos, perhaps in the thousands, that we would like to make hi-res scans of.  The scanner should ideally have an auto-feeder and ideally work with Macs.  The Kodak PS410 and PS810 models appear to be the closest I've found, but I am hoping to find newer models as well as hear your experiences since this is a common problem that most of you will have solved.  Thanks for any insights.
