Canon controlling prices

I went to bhphotovideo and looked. I noticed that where there used to be US and International versions with minor differences in price, no such indication was available. When I bought my 50D some time ago the dealer had to fill out the warranty card. It was the only way to get Canon service if needed.

nextag.com showed a few really discounted ones with US model warranties, but never heard of those dealers.
