Only, to be sure, that we are talking of same: I am pointing to a comparison between "analog" pictures (e.g. on high gloss Baryte paper) and digitally printed pictures, no matter how and with how many different blank inks they are produced. I am asking, whether there would be an advantage for 16 bit picts over 8 bit picts.

Besides: I can't imagine how to alter a conventional 8bit printer to a 16 bit printer... I think there is too much ASIC and circuits, as having a chance.
