New 1Dx owner has battery question

It makes me laugh reading down from the 11,000 per charge post. I haven't had mine for long but I noticed if you don't review your pics it actually could go for a long time. I went on for about 1700 pics for 3 different shoots and leaving me with 30% charge. So I am confident that it will give me over 2k per charge under normal condition. I did, however, used it once at temperature below 0 and the battery went dead at about 5%. Fortunately, my milkyway pic got recorded still.
